Today, I want to update you on a development regarding our representation in Europe.
Baker Tilly Austria is currently working out its notice period and will leave the network on 30 November 2016. I am delighted to announce that we have appointed TPA as our new member firm in Austria. A former member of Crowe Horwath International, TPA is the 6th largest professional services firm in Austria, employing over 500 people across 12 offices and offering a full range of tax, audit and consulting services through German and English speaking desks in each location.
TPA in Austria is part of the TPA Group, which is active in ten further countries across Central and South East Europe. The TPA Group as a whole totals around 1,000 employees across 27 offices and was the third largest generator of referred work within their previous network.
Baker Tilly Roelfs, our German member firm, has entered into a collaboration with the TPA Group. This is an exciting development for Baker Tilly Roelfs, supporting their own ambitious growth plans. For us as a network this creates tremendous new business opportunities as we take advantage of the increased cross-border business coming from the TPA Group firms - in fact, some of you have already received emails inviting you to tender alongside them for cross-border work.
As a network we operate a one firm per country policy. Baker Tilly Roelfs’ collaboration with the TPA Group does not alter this. Therefore we have worked with Baker Tilly Roelfs and TPA to develop a tailor-made alliance arrangement.
Under this arrangement TPA in Austria has become an independent member of Baker Tilly International. All firms within the TPA Group in countries outside Austria where we have an existing member firm1 will be part of of the Baker Tilly Europe Alliance, but will not be independent members of Baker Tilly International. Through the alliance, TPA firms will have access to Baker Tilly International member firms to service their international clients. The group will continue to trade as TPA in all countries where it operates. Our existing independent member firms in those countries will of course continue to be availale as before to fulfil the clients' service needs.
If anyone has any specific client queries with regards to Austria, please speak to me or Adam Grainger. For any general questions on the Baker Tilly Europe alliance, please speak to me.
